Islam je za italijanske škofe »veličastna vera«. Med predstavitvijo 11 učnih gradiv za pouk katoliške vere v italijanskih šolah je islam pohvalil duhovnik Valentino Cottini, nekdanji rektor Papeškega inštituta za arabske in islamske študije (PISAI). Predstavitve se je udeležil tudi vodilni italijanski kardinal Matteo Zuppi. Pater Cottini je dejal, da učna gradiva zagotavljajo »objektivno in sočutno predstavitev islama, ki se ne izogiba težavam, ampak prikazuje to veličastno vero in čudovito kulturo«. Gradivo so skupaj razvili krščanski in muslimanski strokovnjaki s podporo Italijanske škofovske konference.
