The Vatican released the following press release: "During the conversation, the Holy Father expressed his deep concern about the grave humanitarian situation in the city of Oleshky, in the Kherson region, and called for a ceasefire to allow the delivery of food and medical assistance, and the voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population. Five doctors advise Leo XIV against South American trip. Five doctors at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital have reportedly advised Pope Leo XIV not to travel to South America in November. They warn that the trip could be risky so soon after major lung surgery. Argentine journalist and doctor Nelson Castro said he had spoken to five specialists at Gemelli Hospital. The Pope is recovering there after surgery to remove the lower part of his right lung because of cancer. According to Castro, all five doctors advised against the Pope’s planned trip to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru from November 6 to 17. “If he were my patient, I would tell him: You are not traveling.
