State Infiltration of the Church in Vietnam

The report Freedom of Worship: A False Reality in Vietnam was released in June 2026 by International Christian Concern (ICC). It shows efforts by Vietnam's Communist Party to influence the Catholic Church through indirect means.
ICC is a Washington, D.C.-based Christian human rights advocacy nonprofit founded in 1995 to document the persecution of Christians worldwide.
The report argues that the Catholic Church occupies a unique position among Vietnam's religious communities. Unlike most other recognized religious organizations, it is not directly integrated into a state-controlled structure.
Three Control Strategies
According to the report, the Communist Party employs three principal strategies to control religious communities, drawing on a 2023 analysis by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF).
The first, substitution, involves outlawing historically independent religious organizations and replacing them with state-controlled alternatives, often after …بیشتر

Masses Denied at Multiple Italian Shrines for FSSP

Rorate-Caeli.blogspot.com published on June 16 a report about a recent pilgrimage in Italy with a priest of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP).
- This group was denied the celebration of Mass at the Shrine of San Giovanni Rotondo (Padre Pio) and instead celebrated Mass in a hotel basement.
- At the Basilica in Assisi, they were also denied permission to celebrate Mass in Latin, and they noted that an Orthodox Divine Liturgy was taking place at the same time.
- At Loreto, the group was initially denied permission to celebrate Mass, but the priest was finally able to convince the local authorities. However, in Loreto, there was a station for 'Dialogue and Listening' (pictured). Rather than a priest, a nun was 'listening' without a veil and wearing some kind of Roman collar.

Father Matthieu Raffray:
"As a Christian, I believe that there is only one religion, one truth, and one path: Christ himself.
Thus, naturally, every Christian wishes for people to turn to Christ, to get to know Jesus Christ, and for all false religions to gradually disappear.”

St. Vincent Ferrer ~ A001- Dominica I Adventis Domini Sermo 1

The seasonal winter sermons of the preacher and proclaimer of the divine Word, interpreter of sacred scripture and most subtle professor, Saint Vincent, confessor of Valencia, of the Order of Preachers, happily begin.

"And pride is the foundation of all sins. V.g. Why is someone avaricious? It is from pride, because he does not wish to obey the precept of God saying, "You should not lust," or "not commit thefts" etc. Why is someone lustful? Is it not from pride, because he does not wish to obey the precept, "You shall not commit fornication?" Same for gluttony and the other sins. Authority: "Pride is the beginning of all sin," (Sir 10:15). Therefore Christ comes in great humility to reform us, like a servant in administering to us the works of redemption through human incarnation."

Consistory Run Like the Synod: Only two hours are reserved for open interventions during the Consistory on 26–27 June. The majority of the meeting is structured around small-group discussions. The cardinals are divided into 20 groups, each of which prepares a written report. Only nine groups are scheduled to present their reports in the plenary session. Discussion of the Just War doctrine was anticipated based on earlier Vatican communications, but it is absent from the final agenda. Cardinals can communicate directly with Leo XIV via an email address provided for this purpose.

A report by Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe estimates up to 250,000 girls may have been targeted by organised grooming gangs across England over several decades. Offenders in several high-profile cases were predominantly Pakistani Muslim men. The abuse, documented in towns like Rotherham, Rochdale, and Telford, involved vulnerable girls aged 10 to 19 being groomed with gifts, alcohol, and false affection before being subjected to rape, trafficking, and violence. Baroness Casey's 2025 audit confirmed serious institutional failure, finding authorities repeatedly failed victims while some officials suppressed ethnicity data out of fear of being accused of racism. PM Keir Starmer has since announced a full national statutory inquiry, with the NCA reviewing over 1,200 previously closed cases.

St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto has gone full pride

St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto has gone totally pride. From flying the pride flag to rainbow sidewalks to the Drag Show. "Display your pride." It's all about pride in pride.
In 2024, in a letter to a Toronto city councillor the St. Michael's President David G. Sylvester writes:
The St. Michael’s College Student Union (SMCSU) has requested that a Pride crosswalk with rainbow colours be painted between the John M. Kelly Library and Elmsley Place on St. Joseph Street. The University of St. Michael’s College administration and I enthusiastically support this proposal and commit to the costs associated with the project, as outlined to us, on the University’s behalf.
St. Michael’s is a place that welcomes and celebrates the infinite God-given dignity of those who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. From its Inclusiveness Policy, to its Strategic Plan, to the installation of the Progress Pride Flag on the John M. Kelly Library last summer, St. Michael’s …

Leo XIV convenes the cardinals: confidential note sets out programme and calls for discretion

Vatican City - A confidential briefing note, dated 16 June and accompanied by the detailed schedule of proceedings, has reached the members of the Sacred College in recent hours. It confirms the convocation of the Extraordinary Consistory, called by Leo XIV for 26 and 27 June 2026, and sets out its programme, method and - with an insistence that is hardly accidental - the requirements of confidentiality.
The document begins from a programmatic premise: since his election, the Pope has expressed his wish to draw upon “the wealth of experience and wisdom” of the College. The two days are therefore conceived not as a deliberative assembly, but as a time of fraternal exchange around some of the challenges that today confront the life and mission of the Church.
The four sessions
The proceedings are structured around four main moments, divided between the Paul VI Hall and the New Synod Hall.
Friday 26 June begins at 7.30 a.m. with Holy Mass in St Peter’s Basilica, presided over by Leo XIV …

"The Apostles were very much troubled, and each one of them exclaimed: ‘Lord, is it I?’ for they were all perfectly aware that they did not entirely understand his words. Peter leaned towards John, behind Jesus, and made him a sign to ask our Lord who the traitor was to be, for, having so often been reproved by our Lord, he trembled lest it should be himself who was referred to. John was seated at the right hand of Jesus, and as all were leaning on their left arms, using the right to eat, his head was close to the bosom of Jesus. He leaned then on his breast and said: ‘Lord, who is it?’ I did not see Jesus say to him with his lips: ‘He it is to whom I shall reach bread dipped.’ I do not know whether he whispered it to him, but John knew it, when Jesus having dipped the bread, which was covered with lettuce, gave it tenderly to Judas, who also asked: ‘Is it I, Lord?’ Jesus looked at him with love, and answered him in general terms. Among the Jews, to give bread dipped was a mark of …بیشتر

‘The Complete Visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich’ ~ ‘The bitter passion of our Lord Jesus Christ’ ~ part 3 ~ MEDITATION VI; ‘The Last Pasch.’

[Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich; XVIII-XIX Century; born: 8 September 1774 Flamschen, Coesfeld, Prince-Bishopric of Münster, Holy Roman Empire/ died: 9 February 1824 (aged 49), Dülmen, Kingdom of Prussia, German Confederation; mystic, Marian visionary and stigmatist; Roman Catholic Augustinian canoness]
MEDITATION VI ~ The last Pasch
Jesus and his disciples ate the Paschal Lamb in the supper-room.
They divided into three groups. Jesus ate the Paschal Lamb with the twelve Apostles in the supper-room, properly so called; Nathaniel with twelve other disciples in one of the lateral rooms, and Eliacim (the son of Cleophas and Mary, the daughter of Heli), who had been a disciple of John the Baptist, with twelve more, in another side-room.
Three lambs were immolated for them in the Temple, but there was a fourth lamb which was immolated in the supper-room, and was the one eaten by Jesus with his Apostles. Judas was not aware of this circumstance, because being engaged in plotting his betrayal …بیشتر

"Our Lord cut up another lamb which was carried to the holy women in one of the buildings of the court, where they were seated at table. The Apostles ate some more vegetables and lettuce. The countenance of our Divine Saviour bore an indescribable expression of serenity and recollection, greater than I had ever before seen. He bade the
Apostles forget all their cares. The Blessed Virgin also, as she sat at table with the other women, looked most placid and calm. When the other women came up, and took hold of her veil to make her turn round and speak to them, her every movement expressed the sweetest self-control and placidity of spirit."

Why Leo XIV’s Encyclical Is Contradictory on Just War

The encyclical Magnifica Humanitas is internally inconsistent in its treatment of just war theory. That writes Manfred Spieker, emeritus professor of Christian Social Sciences, on Herder.de on June 16. While he generally praises Leo XIV’s reflections on artificial intelligence, he challenges the encyclical’s call to “overcome” the traditional doctrine of just war.
Magnifica Humanitas, drawing on Fratelli Tutti, offers two reasons for moving beyond just war theory: first, that nearly every war in recent decades has been presented as justified, and second, that modern weapons make war an unacceptable solution.
Spieker finds neither argument convincing. Regarding the first, he writes: “If everyone who wages a war appeals to this doctrine, it remains necessary to examine who is justified in doing so and who is not.”
He adds: “Those who falsely invoke this doctrine will face criticism or rejection. But that does not make the doctrine of just war obsolete.”
Nor do modern weapons invalidate …بیشتر

Homosexual UK Couple Convicted of Murdering and Abusing Adopted Toddler

A former teacher and his homosexual partner, a financial sales manager, have been convicted at Preston Crown Court, Lancashire, of murdering and sexually abusing a toddler they were in the process of adopting.
Jamie Varley, 37, was found guilty of murder, two counts of assault by penetration, multiple counts of child cruelty, grievous bodily harm, and offences involving indecent images.
John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, was convicted of causing or allowing the death of a child, child cruelty, and sexual assault.
The victim was born on June 16, 2022, at Wythenshawe Hospital in Greater Manchester. Five days later, social services placed him with foster carers under an emergency order. His mother had a long criminal record, including a murder conviction in 1998.
Varley and McGowan-Fazakerley were approved as prospective adopters in January 2023, and the boy moved into their home in April 2023.
Prosecutors said the child was subjected to sustained abuse almost immediately after his placement. …بیشتر

Leo XIV Against Remigration of Migrants: Asked about “remigration” of immigrants, Pope Leo XIV replied on Tuesday in Castel Gandolfo: “Simply saying, ‘We send them away, and then the problem is off our hands,’ does not seem to me to be the most Christian response.” He said migrants should be respected as persons, their reasons for leaving considered, and their cases examined individually.

Sulla questione remigrazione, esorta a trattare “con rispetto ogni persona”: “Dire mandiamo via, così ci laviamo le mani, non mi sembra una risposta cristiana”.
