Den första mässan firades den 19 juli. IBP grundades 2006 av fem före detta präster från S:t Pius X:s sällskap (SSPX/FSSPX). Detta tycks vara dess första etablering i Kanada.

Priest Clings to Cathedral Column as Earthquake Strikes: The video captured a priest clinging to a column as an earthquake struck western Colombia on August 10. He was celebrating a Eucharist inside the historic Cathedral Basilica of Manizales when the violent shaking began. The cathedral suffered serious damage, including the collapse of one of its side towers. Historically, priests were taught not to abandon the celebration of Mass even during emergencies.

"Catholic" Governor Removes Abortion Limits: Massachusetts has removed its gestational limit on abortion. This means that abortions can legally occur until close to birth. Democratic Governor Maura Healey, a "Catholic", signed the law on August 10. Massachusetts bishops opposed the legislation, but no canonical penalties, including excommunication, have followed.
