PRAYER in honor of the HOLY SHROUD
Lord Jesus,
in front of the Shroud, as in a mirror,
we contemplate the mystery of Your passion and death for us.
It is the greatest love
with which You have loved us, even to giving Your life for the last sinner.
It is the greatest love,
which urges us to give our life for our brothers and sisters.
In the wounds of Your martyred body
we meditate on the wounds caused by every sin:
have mercy on us, Lord.
In the silence of your humbled face
we see the face suffering for every person:
help us, O Lord.
In the peace of your body laid in the sepulcher
we meditate on the mystery of death awaiting resurrection:
hear us, O Lord.
You, who on the cross, embraced us all,
and gave us as children to the Virgin Mary.
May no one feel far from Your love,
and in every face may we see Your face,
which invites us to love as You have loved us.
